Boudoir

The term “boudoir” stems from the French verb bouder, meaning “to sulk” and was primarily used to describe a woman’s dressing room or a private salon – an intimate place she has all to herself and where she can be her true self. In the same manner, boudoir photography is an intimate portrait which captures the beauty a woman only reveals in such places. Capturing this inner expression in a photo allows you to share it with the persons important to you.

Boudoir photography is a process, and the focus is on who YOU are.

How I work

Before the session, I make sure to get to know my clients deeply. Every aspect of the shoot, including lightning, makeup, hair, music should be determined by the personality and uniqueness of the client. As boudoir photography is all about bringing to surface the beautiful soul that’s within you, I try to understand what it is about yourself that you LOVE and then shine a light on it.

Throughout the process, communication is critical. During the shoot, I try to keep my clients relaxed and stay in sync with their energy. If you are at ease with yourself and comfortable in your own body, it will give a special glow to the photos and show the world who you are when you’re at your best.

In the sessions, I don’t just take photos, but create an entire experience for you. In this time, when we are always busy and don’t give ourselves enough time and attention, a boudoir session is a perfect opportunity to celebrate yourself and give yourself and your loved one a gift of beauty.

My goal is to make sure that the photographs I take reflect your love for yourself. Whether your photos show a pin-up girl, a classic beauty or a sensual siren, they are all about you and the things you love about yourself.

Visually, my images are diffuse high-key which flatters the skin, with short focal distances and shallow depth of field. I try to capture the intimate, “dreamy mood” a person’s bedroom and personal items convey. Sometimes influenced by film noir, I try to replicate the mood and appearance of classic pin-up photographs and erotic flare of the golden age.
